High-end Yoga Pants
High-end yoga pants have some of the following characteristics such as: moisture-wicking fabrics, four-way stretch, medium rise to help keep a person covered, flat seams so there is little to no chafing. The fabrics are very breathable and dry fast. Women who wear yoga pants while exercising love these features while other women just love the feel and flexibility that wearing yoga pants affords. Even celebrities are regularly spotted wearing yoga pants.
Celebrities Wearing Yoga Pants
Celebrities such as Kate Upton, Britney Spears, Kim Kardashian, Megan Fox, Miley Cyrus, Jessica Biel, Julianne Hough, Eva Longoria, Jennifer Lawrence, Miranda Kerr, and Adriana Lima to name a few have all been photographed out wearing yoga pants.
I mentioned that yoga pants in black seem to be a favorite but yoga pants with prints are so chic and adored. Print designs on yoga pants range from all-over prints, one leg or one area etc. Prints allow designers to really be creative when designing their own yoga pants. In fact, with yoga pants having similar fits – adding graphics to yoga pants is one sure way to make them stand out in the market. For a new designer who has yoga pants in their collection, it is important to use great fabrics and quality construction. The next important thing is to create great designs such as bold prints that are distinctive. This is how a new designer can stand out when designing yoga pants.
Top Fashion Brands Who Have Yoga Pants In Their Collections
Many top brands have yoga pants in their collections such as Lulu Lemon whom we remember did a massive yoga pants recall when they found that their fabric was see-through. This ended with Lulu Lemon doing an extensive public relations campaign to recover from the mishap plus their top designer was let go in the process. This is why it is important for new designers and clothing brands to make sure before every production run that testing is done with fit models before production begins. Fit models should wear the clothing and be vocal about how they fit and look. They should look at themselves in the mirror and not be afraid to say what they do or don’t like. The fashion design department and other models in the room should all inspect the fit models while they are wearing the style. Having as many eyes as possible on the design will help ensure any and all mistakes are caught.
Other fashion labels with yoga pants in their collections are Nike, Calvin Klein, Zella, Under Armor, Spanx, Eileen Fisher, and Puma. When adding collections that have leggings in their collection the list grows tremendously. So what is the difference between yoga pants and leggings? Yoga pants and leggings are somewhat in the same category. They both are meant to fit to the contour of the woman’s body. From a design standpoint, the only thing that separates the two is the flat seam construction and the fabric used in yoga pants. The fit is basically the same for the two styles. Women love wearing both however yoga pants get the nod to be worn to the gym where as leggings do not. However, to be fair, leggings get the nod to venture off into the night scene where as yoga pants do not. Where they both meet and share equal territory is on the street scene. Face it, putting on a pair of yoga pants to run out for an errand is easy and breezy – slide them right on - no ironing necessary.
I don’t know how the long this trend will last but it is fascinating how comfort is the biggest trend at play here. This means that this trend may stick around for a while. I for one am not complaining. I actually enjoy the trend.
